Day One: Ten random facts about yourself.
Tuesday, July 30, 2013 @ 8:31 AM
1. I always ordered milk tea with three toppings, pearl and two portions of herbal jelly when I was in Melbourne. And I would order regular and the lady would ask "are you sure you don't want a large?" and I would say "No."
2. I kinda miss Union House food, the cafe in University of Melbourne. Particularly Plush Fish's Salmon onigiri. And Curry house's butter chicken. and their chicken tikka massala wrap.
3. One of the sweetest moment between my boyfriend and I was the winter night when he first held my hand. We were walking from Law building to Melbourne Central. It was the night where he confessed to me that he was single all this while (because previously everyone was saying he had a girlfriend)
4. 90% of the baju kurung I have for work aren't even mine. They are my sis' and mom's.
5. I had asthma when I was 9.
6. I lost 2 kgs this Ramadan.
7. I need to have dessert after I eat. At least fruits.
8. I have started playing candy crush. But I am not really addicted to it - I don't know what the big fuss is all about, really.
9. I only have one handbag for office. I am not a fan of handbags.
10. I sleep at least 7 hours a day, every day.

Suck It and See

I simply fell for you because of your music knowledge, the different bands that you know.
But it didn't last very long. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if things were to happen differently.
New Skin
@ 3:17 PM
I was not proud of the person I used to be.
Once, I was astray from reality. I indulged myself with that so called 'fun' when it is all temporary, harmful, sinful. That two months of total bullshit and blinded by the devils, things just struck.
"What kind of person have I become?"
I took a step back and look at myself. That reflection of a filthy version of me - someone I wish I could delete from history and throw it away. I had conflicts, I was confused but there is someone whom I could cry to at that time, someone whom I often only find when I am in need. But surely, He will forgive every time, I am sure. He is God.
You are never alone, for where God is always there for you. Always remember it.
Now that whenever I fear that any of my plans might fail, whenever I fear of loneliness, I tell myself that God would be there. It is a very calming thought.
Thank you. God for giving me this feeling again. You are my best friend.

Reclaim Your Heart
@ 8:46 AM
"Often we ask, why didn't Allah reply my prayers? Why didn't I get the things that I was praying for?"
"Often we thought what we wanted in life is the end, and to get to the end we pray to Allah (the means). When in fact, it should be the other way round. Allah is always the end, the destination, the highest point. And whatever we wanted is a mean for us to be nearer to Allah"
"Don't fret if you didn't get what you wanted, it may cause you to disconnect from Allah in the future. Believe that Allah always knows best, and you don't."
"It's like a marriage. A lot of people pray to Allah they want to get married with a decent man. When in context, with this marriage, you hope it will bring you closer to our Creator"
*****
"If someone offered you to drop a cheque with an amount of USD 1.0 mil if you wake up at 4 a.m. in the morning, I am pretty sure every one would do it"
"Allah offers to give you rahmah, to listen to your prayers, to give you as much blessings, and actually WAITED for you every night (the last 1/3 of the night), yet we rather comfort ourselves under out blanket"
"Yet He has no revenge, He forgived, the Most Merciful - Allah"

I just thought I should share this. I paraphrased what Yasmin Mogahed wrote in her book entitled "Reclaim Your Heart". The most moving book I have ever read.
I hope it moved you as much as it did to me :)
Plans
Wednesday, July 24, 2013 @ 9:08 PM
What I originally planned during highschool
1) Receive JPA scholarship to do medicine
2) Overseas to do medicine maybe in Ireland or India
3) Specialised in A&E or Gynae and Obs
4) So by now which is 2013, I should be in my 4th year of medical school
5) Have a bad-ass boyfriend. Badboy but treat me really special with all the sweet and romantic stuff
6) Probably a nerd, because I wanted to be a really-really good doctor
7) Have a lot of non-Malaysians friends, probably met a non-Malaysian dude and fall in love.
8) Still very active in St. John Ambulance, probably already an officer or trainer by now.
9) Wanted to get married at the age of 28 - with reasons to build career and shit
10) Career > Family
What I end up doing now
1) Did Economics under Bank Negara scholarship to Australia (never had this in mind before)
2) Picked up dancing, specifically in jazz and contemporary (and I thought I am more to hiphop, when in fact I am hopeless. I don't have swag. Period)
3) Used to go to the clubs twice a week, party like there's no tomorrow til 5 a.m., woke up half hangover and get ready for hours of dance (which means far from being a nerd)
4) 90% of my friends are Malaysians. No make it 97%.
5) St. John Ambulance membership actually expired, and had no intention to renew it (because need to take exam and all. Lazy - not that it's hard. Seriously the theory is still in my head)
6) Already working, earning my own money and experiencing the struggle of young executives working in KL
7) Have a boyfriend, far from a bad-ass boyfriend. But he loves me :)
8) Want to get married ASAP so I can buy a house.
9) Family > Career.

Well, things don't go as we plan. But God knows best and we don't.
How did your plan turn out like?

Hi.
Here I am again, trying to revive my long lost passion in blog writing.
Ever since I started working, life has been... dull. So, I decided to re-start with writing in hope that I could find that adventurous, curious young girl that I used to be before.
And hopefully this journey would end well.
To my readers, welcome to my blog.
The title remains:
Over The Hill and Far Away :)
